Blue cross, a popular UK-based animal charity, has received a £500 donation towards the cost of care for homeless pets in Northiam.

The donation comes from Petplan, one of the UK’s leading pet insurance companies and one that have always been a strong supporter of animal charities. Petplan provide affordable insurance for rabbits, dogs and cats.

Every month Petplan run a monthly prize draw in which the pet insurance provider gives a donation to a worthy animal charity along with four weeks of free insurance to any owners adopting a pet from the charity.

According to Alison Andrew, marketing manager for Petplan:

“We understand what a difficult time it can be re-homing a cat or dog and are glad to offer this extra peace of mind during the first few weeks of the animal’s life in a new environment. Having your pet insured is an important part of taking care of its future health and it also helps you to contain any unforeseen veterinary costs .”

Previous recipients of Petplan’s monthly prize draw include The Retired Greyhound Trust and the Coventry branch of Cats Protection.

Currently the Blue Cross Animal Adoption Centre is raising funds to relocate their charity from St Francis Fields to a more suitable site in the South East.
